Vanessa Baker

Vanessa is a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. She is a warm, empathic and neurodiversity affirming clinician, who strives to create a safe, supportive and collaborative space for her clients. Vanessa has worked across both the private and public health sectors, including within schools, hospitals, community outpatient, and other private practice settings.  

Vanessa works with a broad range of presentations and has a special interest in anxiety, OCD, trauma/PTSD, and neurodiversity. She utilises a range of evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Her work is also informed by Family Systems Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Collaborative & Proactive Solutions. Vanessa is an accredited Schema Therapist and TF-CBT clinician. 

 

Vanessa completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours Class I) at the University of Sydney, and a Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Canberra. She holds full registration with the Psychological Board of Australia and is a board-approved supervisor for intern psychologists and clinical psychology registrars. 

In addition to her clinical work, Vanessa has worked within research teams at School of Psychiatry, University of New South Wales and Academic Unit of Child Psychiatry, South Western Sydney Local Health District.
